Samuel Eto'o, uno dei più grandi calciatori africani di tutti i tempi, ha avuto una carriera straordinaria che lo ha visto vincere numerosi titoli e riconoscimenti in diversi campionati.
Il suo percorso professionale inizia nel 1997, quando gioca per il Leganés nella Segunda Division spagnola. Nonostante la giovane età, dimostra fin da subito il suo talento e si fa notare con 3 gol in 28 partite.
Nella stagione successiva, si trasferisce all'Espanyol, dove disputa una sola partita di Coppa del Re, prima di passare al Real Madrid. Anche se ha giocato solo due partite con i Blancos, questa esperienza gli ha permesso di farsi conoscere a livello nazionale.
Nel 1999, si unisce al Mallorca, dove inizia a brillare davvero. Nella sua prima stagione completa con la squadra delle Baleari, segna 6 gol in 13 partite di Liga, dimostrando il suo istinto sotto porta. Nelle stagioni successive, continua a migliorare le sue prestazioni, segnando gol importanti e contribuendo alla squadra. Nella stagione 2000/2001, segna 11 gol in 28 partite di Liga, a cui aggiunge 2 reti in 5 partite di Coppa del Re.
Il talento di Eto'o non passa inosservato, e nel 2001 si trasferisce al grande Real Madrid. Anche se non gioca molte partite, l'esperienza nella squadra madrilena gli permette di crescere e di acquisire maggior maturità calcistica.
Nel 2002, Eto'o torna al Mallorca con un nuovo status di stella emergente. In questa stagione, segna 14 gol in 30 partite di Liga e diventa sempre più influente nella squadra. Contribuisce anche al cammino della squadra in UEFA Champions League con una rete in 5 partite, dimostrando ancora una volta la sua abilità nel segnare gol.
Nella stagione 2003/2004, Eto'o registra la sua migliore stagione con il Mallorca. Segna 17 gol in 32 partite di Liga e si mette in luce anche in Europa League, segnando 4 gol in 7 partite. La sua abilità e il suo istinto sotto porta attirano l'attenzione di club di alto livello.
Nel 2004, Eto'o si trasferisce al Barcellona, dove comincia a scrivere la storia. Nella sua prima stagione con i Blaugrana, segna 25 gol in 37 partite di Liga, diventando uno dei capocannonieri del campionato e vincendo il titolo. Nella stagione seguente, continua a segnare gol importanti e contribuisce alla conquista della Liga da parte del Barcellona.
I veri momenti di gloria per Eto'o arrivano però nella stagione 2008/2009, quando segna 30 gol in 36 partite di Liga e vince il titolo. Inoltre, si mette in luce nella UEFA Champions League, segnando 4 gol in 10 partite e aiutando il Barcellona a conquistare il prestigioso trofeo.
Dopo la straordinaria esperienza al Barcellona, Eto'o si trasferisce all'Inter nel 2009. Con la squadra nerazzurra, vince subito la sua terza UEFA Champions League segnando 2 gol in 13 partite. La stagione successiva, segna 21 gol in 35 partite di Serie A e contribuisce alla vittoria del campionato italiano da parte dell'Inter.
Dopo due stagioni molto produttive con l'Inter, Eto'o decide di cambiare squadra e si trasferisce all'Anzhi nel 2011. In due stagioni con la squadra russa, segna 23 gol in 47 partite di campionato, dimostrando che il suo talento è ancora al top.
Dal 2013, Eto'o ha continuato a giocare in squadre di varie leghe, dall'Everton in Premier League al Konyaspor in Süper Lig, fino ad arrivare in Qatar con il Qatar SC.
La sua carriera è stata caratterizzata da numerose vittorie, tra cui 3 UEFA Champions League, 2 campionati spagnoli, 3 campionati italiani e la medaglia d'oro alle Olimpiadi del 2000 con la nazionale camerunese.
